It doesn't seem natural... i dunno, maybe i'm a purest, but a good pair of speakes can still make a pretty huge sound stage. I don't see DTS to be the new wave--i mean, the end result seams too dependent on the mixing engineer.

The tech information and opinions in the second part of this essay was rock solid and quite informative; the whining in the first part was unnecessary and grating with a "poor, poor, pitiful me, I'm the only one who does things right around here" tone. Without the first few paragraphs, this is an outstanding piece.

This is supposed to be explaining what a Surround Receiver is, not talking about issues you have with advisors or about DTS CDs.
One comment on your rant at the top: I don't think ownership is a criteria for personal knowledge; product usage is a criteria. I have reviewed products I don't own, but I have used every one of them long enough to know their strengths and weaknesses and comment appropriately.

that I got a little lost here and there, but I applaud you for the immense effort and time you must have put into writing this. Pretty amazing, actually.
So, these guys think you're a jerk? Well, I got your back if you need me, sweetie. I think you need to own it to really write about it as well. You can know all the facts, but how do you know how it will perform over time if you don't own it? How do you know what part of it isn't like they say it is? Well, you'd need to own it. I could have read the owner's manual and played with alot of equipment before I bought it, but until I actually used it on an everyday basis, I wouldn't have known diddly.
I don't have anything against anyone here, but people come here looking for advice from people who've had FIRST-HAND experience with a product. If they wanted something else, they could just go ask a salesman at their local store, right?
Anyway, great job.

Let it go. It's only hurting you. We have all heard about your opinion about members owning the products they review. I happen to agree with you that reviews by owners are more helpful, but Epinions isn't going to do anything and some members just don't care about that stuff. Some members find those reviews helpful and will continue to rate them highly no matter what you write.
Hope to see you let go and move on.

I would've rated this VH if it hadn't been for the out of place reference to surferdude and the others in the beginning of the review. In my opinion, it was unnecessary.

Very informative opinion without being too technical. I would LOVE to hear Tori, Fiona, or Erykah with the dts sound. Unfortunately, my salary does not allow it at this time.
Again, great series. I'm learning a lot.

Hmm well I guess if you are a jerk I am a jerk fan..because I think you are one of the best writers on epinions..and you know that isn't sucking up.
Abuse of any sort just plain out stinks!! But heck at least they didn't email you saying you didn't have the brain capacity of a gnat hehehe.
Anyways great review as always...DTS sound for a CD...wow...it is the future...and it is good!
