It all started out well but went downhill.
The setup was easy but asked too many personal questions for my taste. The program downloaded quickly and installed easily.
The first hitch I ran into was that if you wanted any extra services such as signature or delivery confirmation you're still going to have to make a trip down to the post office to pick up the forms. To be fair you can grab a handful of forms when no one is looking and use them at home in the future.
The biggest problem I had was that they require you to send in postage that failed to print -- that doesn't make sense! My printer ran out of ink and nothing got printed. What was I to do?
I called customer service and was on hold for about 20 minutes just to be read some standard response off a computer screen telling me they needed the postage as proof that it wasn't sent. I asked how they'd know if I sent in postage that *was* successfully shipped and they told me they could tell if the postage had already been processed by the USPS. So I asked if they could check about my postage using those means but they said that it didn't work that way!
I used the service for a couple of months but after this I decided to cancel. The "Service Agreement" on the website says "You can cancel your membership simply by contacting Stamps.com Customer Support." So I sent an email to customer support and a couple days later I got a response back saying I had to call in. To cancel you have to wait in a different queue on their phone system and I was waiting easily over an hour.
I should also mention that by this time another billing period had just started (it was the first day of it) and when I called in they not only refused to give me back money for the latest billing period, but they suggested I stay on till the end of my billing period to get my money's worth.
