Going, going, not gone!

Pros:Free Music, Easy to use, good Instant Message feature
Cons:Going to be shut down, Slow
The Bottom Line: Was the best but no longer is because it is about to be history, luckily there are alternatives.
Yes indeed Napster can be put out but there are alternatives to this easy to use program. First before I tell you about the alternatives I would like you all to know that Napster is very easy to use. It is also under fire for supposedly'stealing' customers from Record Companies.
I signed up for Napster when it was only on Beta 2 (currently on Beta 9.6) and it was great. I always got the search results I wanted but when it got more members the searches turned out more than I needed. This got me annoyed, therefore instead of looking for what I wanted I just downloaded every search result and that way I was almost certaintly going to get a FULL download of what I desired.
When I downloaded stuff I downloaded it overnight. I also thought that I would be able to download things faster from T3's but it wasn't true because the difference between my 56K (running at about 40k) and a T3 were enormous and therefore it just came slower. This is the worst fact about Napster, slow downloads.
Napster is likely going to be shut down and to avoid this you should get the following free programs by searching for them on Altavisat.com or another search engine. Napigator lets you use a non-Napster-owned server to connect through making it so that Napster cannot control anything on that server and therefore those servers won't be shut down. Also Audiognome is like Napster but lets you connect to more than one server at a time which is great. Overall if you want to change off of Napster totally you should sign up for Gnutella and get a good client (I prefer SpotLight). All but Gnutella are Napster add-ons.
