Pros: Free phone, reasonable priced until you go over your minutes
Cons: Poor service, not enough towers in Alabama, poor reception
The Bottom Line: There are better services out there for the money. Cellular One does not have enough towers in Alabama to provide good coverage through out the State.

| davelaura's Full Review: General Reviews of Cellular One Customer Service |
A year ago my husband and I started to look for a Cellular Phone Service Plan. The only problem was that we didn't have a large variety to choose from because of the small town that we lived in at the time. Cellular One decided to come into the area where we were living and we decided to give the service a try.
In the beginning Cellular One was a wonderful service. Then it happened. The other cellular services started to offer better plans with longer minutes and cheaper prices. Cellular One never upgraded their plans where we lived. It was the same old 300 minutes for $39.99 plus tax.
Then my husband and I started to noticed that the reception along the Interstates and highways was not as clear as it was in the beginning. Eventually we started to have problems with using the phone completely. One minute one of us would be riding down the road and talking on the Cell phone and the line would go out completely.
Customer Service was not very helpful either. When we first got our phone the sales representative gave us the instruction book in Spanish. Now, this might help someone who can read and understand Spanish but in my case my primary language is English. When we asked the customer service about providing us with an instruction manual in English they said they would try. Eventually we received instructions off of the internet for the phone through Motorola.
My next bad experience with the Cellular One Customer Service representative was when the phone's antenna broke after a few months of owning the phone. Since we were paying insurance on the phone through Cellular One I would think that they would either replace the phone or fix it. Instead it would cost us $30.00 to replace the antenna.
And don't think about missing a payment despite your good intentions on paying for your services. In January my husband and I lost our three year old son to a gun accident. During this whole ordeal some how our phone payment didn't get sent off right away. About three days before the bill was due I sent it off and called the company explaining to them that the check was in the mail. A week later Cellular One turned our service off. When I called the sales representative and explained to her that I had paid the bill and what had happen she told me that they had had the check for a week and somehow it didn't get into the computer. Even though I had paid my bill Cellular One turned the service off because their employee did not get the information into the computer correctly.
If you are looking for a cellular phone service shop around. There are a lot of different companies out there offering good plans. Ask friends about their cellular phone services. Are they happy with their service? I would not recommend Cellular One unless they improved their customer service, their cellular phone plans, and the receptions between towers.
