A couple of questions (Reply to this comment)
by sslabs
I'm not familiar with polyproleine? Do you really mean polypropylene? Poly has become very popular in car and home speakers in the past few years.
Also you stated that some speakers reach out to 20,000 kHz? I think you mean 20kHz or 20,000Hz. The way you stated it, I don't think a dog or a bat could hear it. It is actually quite common for speakers to reproduce sounds well beyond 20kHz even though humans cannot hear those sounds.
To the best of my knowledge, the Sony speakers you mention don't use the regular poly cones but H.O.P. or highly oriented polymer. And those Sony speakers claim an outrageous upper end of 50 kHz. I could be wrong about the Sony, as far as the model number, I'm going off of memory.
You do make some good points
I hate Bose and I think their speakers and their advertising is all a scam. Cheap drivers, and bogus claims. I bet the profit margin is killer. And yes Sony is finally making affordable good speakers. Also four way speakers just sound funky to these ears, and three ways can sound bad (cheap or just poorly designed).
