Pros: EVERYTHING!! Power is GREAT!! Pulls like an OX!!. FUN FAST and POWERFUL!!
Cons: rear seat difficult to get out of.
The Bottom Line: If you need a truck to tow and haul people...THIS IS THE TRUCK in my opinion!! Would not trade this for anything else I have driven!!

WHEW!! Where do I start!! I have had quite a few trucks starting with when I was 16 up to now. My 1st was a 3/4 ton standard cab ford that was ROUGH at best....Then I moved to a 1 ton GMC Crew cab that was OLDER, but very nice....From there I have had both GM and Ford trucks, from 1/2 tons (F150 and 1500 Chevy) to 3/4 ton Ford Crew in '99, to decked out conversion crew cabs....I LOVE TRUCKS!!!!! My point is that I have used trucks to tow and for daily transportation.
THIS 2001 Chevy 2500HD Crew cab 2wd short box with 8100 V8 engine, allision transmission, and posi rear end is GREAT!! I love this truck. Ride is smooth, but still handles a load like a TRUCK, handling is smooth and makes you feel like you can corner at any speed, brakes are smooth and stop on a dime, there is only 1 thing I would change about this truck....and every truck for that matter....fuel mileage!!! I am getting 9 MPG with daily driving and have gotten 13 MPG on long trips. .......
I have had GM crew cabs from a 1976 to a 1996 and this one, and they all share on problem. Difficult to get out of the back seat. Do not know why, but seems like the pillar between the front and rear doors us just too far back, hard to swing your leg past, but, this is minor.
