I have used the Kodak Gallery (used to be called Ofoto), Shutterfly, and Club Photo. Frankly, I haven't found much difference in the print quality amongst the 3. I've purchased hundreds of prints for myself and family in the last year and they all seem quite good. Club Photo has been the cheapest for prints. (I don't like having to purchase huge numbers of prints ahead of time, which is the only way to get cheap prices at Shutterfly.)
Club Photo has the widest selection of gift items. You can have them print your pix on everything from calendars and mugs to aprons and even cookies and candy! Because of that, I use Club Photo for album sharing so that my family can order whatever wacky items they want without my having to guess whether they'd rather have a t-shirt or chocolate photo pops.
I love the fact that Club Photo prints captions on the back of every photo. I mostly use Kodak Gallery for prints and I really miss that Club Photo feature.
That said, there are a couple of things about Club Photo that bug me:
1. They don't show thumbnails of your pix in the shopping cart. So if you order large numbers of photos like I do, sometimes stopping in the middle of an order to go do something, reading that you've ordered 16 photos from a particular photo album doesn't tell you a thing. This is where the Kodak Gallery web site shines; not only do they show you thumbnails in the shopping cart, but that all gets archived in your order history, so if you can't remember if you sent Grandma that great picture of your kid, you can look up your order history and find out! That is the main reason I now order all my prints through Kodak.
2. When you share your photo albums, the interface is a little klunky for the recipients. I had several people email me saying the couldn't figure out where to put the password to access all my photo albums or how to get a slide show, and a few other questions. It certainly didn't make them want to be members of Club Photo! Club Photo should get on the ball and realize that the sharing interface is a big marketing opportunity and make it easier to use.
3. I find certain editing tasks on Club Photo to be slow and labor intensive (and I have DSL! How I feel for modem users!). For example, to move photos from album to album (which often happens when I realize that a group of photos is going to have to be divided into 2 albums because Club Photo has a limit on the # of photos per album), there is no "Move" option. I have to copy them from one album, go to another album and paste them in, then go back to the original album and delete the pictures I copied. Too time-consuming!
