I've repeatedly avoided doing business with Fogdog.com because of all the negative reviews. FYI, they are the same company as Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods, etc. But I finally gave in and ordered a pair of Reebok Insta Pump Fury shoes from them on 5-5-05. I just couldn't pass up the good deal I got with a coupon code I found online. The shoes arrived 5-11-05. They were actually right, and in terrific shape (including the shoe box). I was quite surprised.
Now a few things though. Their stock clearly comes from the Reebok Store site. Their websites are identical, plus whatever sizes Reebok has in stock, so do they. So my positive experience is probably due to Reebok and not Fogdog since they appear to be the "frontend" for the Reebok Store. Secondly, it was supposed to come USPS, but they first sent it to a third-party "Billy-Bob" style carrier, which in turn delivered it to the Post Office who in turn delivered it to me. Parcel Direct is the name of the company. They only have a few hundred trucks and no planes so you can imagine they saved Fogdog a few precious cents compared to USPS. They were the weak link in the shipping. If it had went through UPS, Fedex, or even straight USPS, it would have been here days sooner.
Anyway, that's my story. It was a good experience, though Reebok likely handled it instead of Fogdog, and the Parcel Direct company was subpar. But it did get here and in good condition. I'm really not a positive person, but I feel that people should know that all FogDog orders aren't bad... well, at least not mine.
