| KMINER's Full Review: Drano Max Gel Clog Remover |
I don't know why I'd try and skimp on our drain cleaner ... after all a good working drain is vital to a house. Here I will have no qualms shelling out $20 for an eyeshadow, but admit I "bargain shop" for drain cleaner!
And what a mess it's been!
I primarily do the grocery shopping, so when it's on the list I usually get the cheapest - after all, it's just going down the drain, right?!
After having a huge problem in our tub with a body scrub that was so oily it clogged everything up, my husband drove to a local store and came home with Drano Max Gel Clog Remover. I had seen it in the store - it was on the pricier side of the scale. I always was curious though how a "gel" would work as compared to a regular "liquid" cleaner.
From the site:
"Drano Max Gel is over 50% thicker than Liquid Plumr Gel so it clings to clogs longer to clear clogs better. Drano Max Gel pours through standing water and works fast to restore your drains to their free-flowing state. Safe for all pipes, it's also the best at removing hair, soap scum, and other gunky clogs.
Benefits include:
- Formulated thick to dissolve the toughest clogs fast
- Pours through water straight to the clog
- Has a special ingredient to protect pipes from corrosion
- Safe for plastic, PVC, metal pipes, garbage disposals, and septic systems
- Won't harm pipes when used overnight
- Contains no phosphorus"
Drano Max Gel Clog Remover is all that has been in our house for drain needs since that day ...
yes, it's that good.
Really drain cleaner is pretty easy to use - other than general precautions (please read packaging before using), you just careful pour some in the drain area, let sit, and flush with hot water.
The problem we have is we often have to use a whole bottle of the "other" drain cleaners, and often have had to go out and buy another bottle a few days later.
Drano Max Gel Clog Remover takes half the bottle or less, no matter what the clog, and works every time.
It comes out as a thick gel and because of this can come out in sort of "plops" as opposed to a steady stream, so resist the urge to shake or tip it around. The gel is thick, almost like a hair gel. It really sits around the top of my drain for a minute and then seeps in. Somehow, mentally, I feel like this is very effective as it doesn't just "slip" down the drain - I get this vision of it slowly pushing and getting the clog out!
15 minutes later just flush with hot water - and a clean drain you'll have!
Drano Max Gel Clog Remover really exceeded my expectations and is the only drain cleaner we ever purchase now!
