The True 10 Best Movies Ever
Jul 13 '01
The Bottom Line The top ten is very hard to choose, and I will hate myself if I left out any good ones.
Where to start? There have been some great movies since the invention of the videocamera. The Critics seem to want to pick those old, boring movies (Citizen Cain). I myself enjoy the new era of cinematography. Here is my list of the ten best movies of all time:
10. Traffic- A story of the drug trafficing over the border of Mexicop and the United States. Excellent acting (Cantherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas and Benicio Del Toro). Could be in the top 5 if the plot was more elaborate.
9. The Player- A story of a movie producer who accidentally kills a man and must cover it up. Could have had stonger acting.
8. The Matrix- Quite possibly the best special effects movie ever. A must see.
7. Apollo 13- An amazing true story of Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks)and his fellow astronaut's failed journey to the moon.
6. Happy Gilmore- A teenager's favorite movie. Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) makes the transition from being a no-mercy hockey player to joining the Professional Golfer's Tour. Very funny.
5. Saving Private Ryan- A Tom Hanks masterpiece. A story of a man who must recover a soldier and return him to his heart-broken mother.
4. Star Wars- The only pre-90's movie on this list. Harrison Ford and that guy who played Luke Skywalker (no one knows his name) take an adventure to rescue a captured princess. A Steven Spielberg masterpiece.
3. Jurassic Park- Two words- Steven Spielberg.
2. Gladiator- Russell Crowe plays a man who loses his wife and only child and becomes a gladiator fighting for his life.
1. Forrest Gump- Always overlooked. The best movie ever. No question. Tom Hanks is marvelous. If you have never seen this movie, I recommend you go get it right now.
