Well , it looks like this topic is no longer a pass go get $0.02 free zone . Unfortunately when I write on these topics I get more reads than the others I actually had to take the time and effort with . Looking back on some of these I have written , I want to laugh at myself . Probably another 45 opinions from now I will laugh at this one . I feel for the most part all the advisors have earned their status here through hard work and dedication . However there are a few that can make a perpetual donkey's rear of themselves . For instance , if you are an advisor in games - do not leave beauty advice on a beauty review stating " you know because you are an advisor . " It's silly . Leave comments in any field you like , but try not to let your ego inflate your head with the whole advisor thing . As far as how to get more hits on your page . Well , this one is a little lost on my pea brain . I read in one person's profile to read and rate a lot . I read and rate a lot and still only get around 30 page views . I think it matters more on what you write about . Sure , reading and rating helps to get your name out , but it seems to get a better pay off to write on gender neutral reviews . ( Computers stuff mainly . ) Another thing is I think your member name has a lot to with your Epinions fortune . I wish now I had picked a gender neutral name . Like Color_Pip , or something easier to remember any who . It also amazes me to see some two bit piece of garbage by a really great writer rated very helpful . I tend to rate on what I find the person's capabilities to be rather than what I expect out of everyone . So , it really burns me to see a good writer being so very lazy . I feel like I have been cheated when people rate out of loyalty rather than quality . I usually just do not rate if I can't rate helpful or better . I don't know if it helps , but I like to send out the occasional Thank You letter . I am a bit behind , but if you think you deserve one and I have missed you - Thanks . It really has helped me to go out of my way to say thanks as now these people are going out of their way to help me . It also just makes you smile to know that someone sees the effort behind your Epinions will . As far as my web of trust goes . Well, it is lacking a lot more numbers than I like , but is generally becoming less important to me . It used to matter a lot to me when I looked at other's web of trust and now I wonder -Really what is the point ? I mainly use it to keep up with the people whom I really want to read . Hence , modifications will be made from time to time . However , when people trust me , that is a whole other story . I take a lot of pride and happiness to see a new person on that list .
