The Bottom Line My top ten list are the ones I saw, that I liked.

Thanks to NetFilx I've been watching more and more movies, indulging myself in the enjoyment of all that Hollywood has to spew forth at me and enjoying every minute of it.

Here is a reminder of the criteria: What were the 10 best films of 2000? Please rank your list and briefly (2 to 4 sentences per choice) justify why they make the list.

The Honorable Mentions: Meet the Parents; The Perfect Storm; Charlie's Angels; Shaft; Frequency; Final Destination; American Psycho; Road Trip; Nurse Betty; Small Time Crooks.

1. Gladiator - Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius, Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus are directed by Ridley Scott in this amazing film that is already on my list of the top films of the decade.

2. What Lies Beneath - Robert Zemeckis directs Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer in this story of the perfect husband, with one deadly mistake that comes home to haunt him and his family.

3. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - One of the most beautiful mesmerizing films of the year. The ending doesn't deliver on the promise, but this film is worth owning to watch over and over.

4. Almost Famous - Cameron Crowe tells the amazing story of his life as a young writer for Rolling Stone, a very young writer he was only 15 years old.

5. Unbreakable - While this will not be one of the best from director M. Night Shyamalan it is definitely one of the best films of 2000 and perhaps the decade.

6. The Whole Nine Yards - As the tagline for this funny, farcical movie says. In the heart of suburbia, a hit man with heart has just moved in. That hit man is Bruce Willis and this movie is too funny.

7. Pitch Black - A low budget sci-fi tour de force for actor Vin Diesel if you've seen The Fast and the Furious (2001) you must see this story of a group of marooned space travelers struggling for survival.

8. Boiler Room - This is another movie that stars Vin Diesel in a minor role, but a must see in the starring role is Giovanni Ribisi as a hustler turned stock broker wrapped up in a sticky situation and also wrapped up in the arms of the ex-girlfriend (Nia Long) of his new boss (Nicky Katt).

9. The Replacements - During a pro football strike, the owners hire substitute players and comedy ensues, very unlikely, but also a very funny movie. Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman and yes Orlando Jones are among the few that make this movie a must see.

10. The Way of the Gun - Ryan Phillippe and Benicio Del Toro play too small time crooks that kidnap a wealthy couple's surrogate mother. James Caan turns in a low-key performance making his less than savory character rather noble, memorable and well worth seeing.
