I certainly think _Broadcast News_ fits the category. But despite my fondness for all the lead actors in that film (particularly Al Brooks), I just didn't find it very interesting. It plays pretty prominently on eplovejoy's list, though. Thanks for the comment.

They're improving this site to death, that's for sure. Soon we'll only be able to post reviews of out of print records from the '40s.

MNM,
Just to clarify: It's only plagiarism if you cut and paste something from the internet. If you actually look something up from an old magazine and then type it in yourself, that's called RESEARCH.
Thought you'd want to know.

It just seemed a shame not to get the word out concerning this film. Thanks for the comment.

"His Girl Friday" and must sheepishly admit I haven't seen many of the others, but "Broadcast News" immediately came to mind when I saw your title. Do you think it fits the category? If so, would it also be an honorable mention? Just curious. One of my faves. As is Holly Hunter.
Coincidence? I doubt it...
Good job. Cool topic.

Hi Mike! (Reply to this comment)

Never seen this one, but have heard of it. Sounds a good deal like 'His Girl Friday'. Speaking of which, did you see the TV set remake of that with Burt Reynolds, Kathleen Turner and Christopher Reeve called 'Switching Channels'? Dreadful! Shows how valuable properties are not indestructible in the wrong hands.
MNM
P.S. I don't know where you got the idea I've seen a lot of movies. I copy my reviews from old issues of 'Harper's Bazaar'...

Peter,
Here's an oldie but a goodie:
Q: How many feminists does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: That's not funny.
It's typical of your generosity to leave such an encouraging comment even though your piece in this category is exemplary. And what makes it exemplary? Could it be that you bring extensive knowledge to the topic? What you know about reporters is far less important than what you know about movies. If I wished that more people followed my example in concentrating on 1 movie in their ten best lists, it's only because so many people who contribute to these categories haven't done their homework. When writers like you and MrsNormanMaine say something about the ten best movies that ________, you know whereof you speak because you've watched so many movies. But the rest of us are better off when we manage not to trot out our ignorance for public consumption. Thanks for the comments, sir.

I expect to see each and every one of the films you list there at the end discussed in Peter's review, or else your link is assuredly not as helpful as it should be. Feminism is no laughing matter.
