I havent used air freshening products for awhile. I was looking for a freshener for the bathroom and it didnt take long to choose a $1 can of Glade.
It has an attractive print on the front and a colorful finished cap. The size and design of the can makes it more appealing to leave out than other brands. My intentions were to leave the can out in the bathroom for courtesy sprays.
The bottle is a tall slender can which is easy to hold. There is a plastic built-on cap nozzle for the spray to come out so I don't have to fuss with pulling a lid off and reattaching it. There isnt a cover to protect the nozzle from spraying inadvertently which should be considered when storing.
Unlike other sprays, this does not claim to kill bacteria or have a lingering smell. The purpose is just to freshen the room. This product successfully knocks out the odor in one squirt.
The directions indicate to shake the bottle before use and then spray at the center of the room. Avoid inhaling contents.
I havent used a Glade aerosol freshener in awhile so I was surprised when I aimed the bottle into the room and the spray went all the way across the room like I was using a fire hose! The fragrance lingers for awhile but eventually disappears.
Glade sells a variety of scents. Are you one of those people who spay the can in the isle and then run under to smell it? Can not confirm or deny. I was at the grocery store when I chose my last can so there wasnt much to choose from. It didnt take me long (hubby was rushing) to decide on Cinnamon Sticks.
Their website included a list of scents that they offer: Apple Cinnamon, Butterfly Garden, Cinnamon Sticks, Clean Linen, Country Garden, French Vanilla, Grapefruit Delight, Hawaiian Breeze, Lavender Meadow, Lilac Spring, Melon Burst, Mountain Snow, Neutralizer, Powder Fresh, Rainshower, Refreshing Spa, Suddenly Spring(NEW!), Strawberries & Cream, Tropical Mist.
There is one drawback for our family. The spray drives our lungs crazy and Im not talking immediately either. Obviously you shouldnt be in the room when the product is spayed. I thought they were exaggerating but I experienced lung irritation as well even when at least 30 minutes had past since the product was sprayed. Using this sparingly in the bathroom hasn't caused any problems.
Another challenge is that either your smell a great deal of fragrance so everyone knows you just sprayed it, or you smell nothing. It does't make a very good room deodorizer or a lasting freshener.
Overall
This is a great product for the price. If your main purpose is immediately eliminating a smell, this will do the job instantly but it is not going to be an all-day freshener. This is something that really should come out when you have guests to avoid awkward moments.
