Misinformed Again!

Pros: Great advertising to hook you in.
Cons: Terrible service. Rip-off.
The Bottom Line: Absolutely do NOT recommend U.S. Cellular service!! Constant overcharges and misinformation.

U.S. Cellular is a scam. Their constant response from their customer service reps is that they are sorry, I must have been misinformed. Or, they are sorry, they don't know why that amount appeared on my bill. I am constantly overcharged--sometimes they credit my account, sometimes they don't. Each time, I have to spend at least 45 minutes minimum trying to resolve the issue.
Easy Edge is a ripoff. They have a great good cop/bad cop set-up between the in-store reps and the telephone customer service reps. They each claim the other gave misinformation. In-store rep tells you to only play demos and you won't be charged--get your bill, and surprise--$70 in air time! Drive 35 miles down the road from my home, and surprise--roaming fees! Bought a new camera phone for my son for Christmas (he was already on plan). In-store rep tells me I have to put my number on new phone initially, but can then switch phone to his number (some technicality). Surprise, $30 in phone number switch charges (in-store guy told me the fees would be waived.) Bought a new case in U.S. Cellular store. They needed my cell number, I paid cash. Surprise, charge also shows up on next bill. Drive to church 10 miles away, takes 4 dropped calls to have a conversation, surprise--you are billed by the minute, even when calls are dropped.
It's worth it to me to pay the fee to break my contract to be rid of the hassle. My loss, but I have learned! Hopefully you have too!
