Well, I WAS a faithful Omaha Steaks customer for many many years. As for the quality of the steaks, always wonderful. When I used to have them shipped: never a problem. Then I began shopping at the West Palm Beach store on Okeechobee. The staff there was great, and would give you coupons so you could get the best deal for your money. Well, that store closed (was in a bad area) so now I had to go to the store in Boca Raton. Poor, POOR customer service there. They would not go out of their way for anything. They would have a better deal posted on the wall, but would quote you the highest prices. After last March, I quit going there. I figured I would just go back to online ordering.
Well, that is when my dinner was interrupted all the time for Omaha steaks telemarketers!!! They only call during dinner. They don't want to take "No thanks, I'm not interested" as an answer. I don't like to be impolite, but you HAVE to hang up on them because they won't take no for an answer. So, I wrote an email to Omahasteaks.com, told them how happy that I was that my dinner was constantly interrupted, and that they were driving a faithful customer away. A simple apology would have been nice, but this is the email I got in return (at least they did respond):
Dear Ms (skygrrl),
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have removed you from our
phone list. The calls will cease immediately. If we can be of further
assistance, please contact customer service at 1-800-329-6500.
Best Regards,

I have received SIX calls since then. Notice there was no apology for ruining my dinner. Just some cut and paste answer. Plus, they didn't remove my number!!! I am receiving MORE calls than before!
Omaha Steaks products are good. Way overpriced, but if you want an excellent steak dinner to impress someone, their steaks will work. But if you buy them online, you will be harrassed, if you buy them at an Omaha Steaks store, pay cash and give them phony info so your dinner (probably when you are eating the steaks) won't be interrupted.
UPDATE: OCTOBER 7, 2005
Well, during my dinner (they must have known I was eating chicken) they called AGAIN! I told the representative that I had left my comment about these calls on epinions.com. She said she would let management know.
I am curious (but not holding my breath) to see what happens.
