Does this mean I can come out of the closet? (Reply to this comment)

Great review - I'm wondering whether I ought to see if I can dig out my LEGO Master Builders club badges from my youth.

Legos! (Reply to this comment)
by starcrossedkat
I loved playing with Legos as a kid. Have you ever been to Legoland? That place is AMAZING. I still have my Legos in my attic. My best friend has a collection of Lego boxes from different countries. It's Lego mania I tell you. I loved loved reading this review. My favorite part?
"Lego organizer consisting of a Lego travel case, accordion binder for the booklets and their induction into the Lego Kids Club."
Classic Lego lover!
Great job!

...as are your Lego creations, I'm sure!
My kids are well on their way to becoming addicts and desperately want the Legos Life on Mars $100/set! I'll take your advice and search Amazon.com and maybe I'll find a bargain! Thanks!
You should work for Legos - that employee discount would come in handy!

Review (Reply to this comment)

Great information, lots of good stuff in your review. These things are the best in allowing a child to create, learn, and build. Not to mention what it does for their imagination.
As for it being an obsession, check out this site:

This guy builds some AMAZING lego sculptures, and it is now HIS JOB creating things out of LEGO's. Imagine that.........

Great article... (Reply to this comment)

I've hardly ever had to buy Legos for my kids. They receive so many Duplo sets from presents that I just dump them in a big box so we've got a huge collection. I've never heard of Technics before though. We received Knex, but I don't like those too much. The pieces are way too small for the little ones. But I just love watching the interesting things my children like building with their Duplos. :D My husband and I can just see our kids majoring in some kind of engineering major like us. :)

Cage on wheels (Reply to this comment)
by dee67
When we used to babysit our nieces, we'd build cars for their hamsters.
We'd take the big green grass pieces and build cage cars on them and give the lil hairy guys tours of the house. They didn't seem to mind.
Great piece!

Great... more ideas.
That does sound cool though - but I doubt they would even know how to throw a football - these guys are "geeks" in training - what can I say? They love math and science, live for the space museum and can spend hours watching the NASA Channel.

DUDE!!!
You soooooooo need to check out the Amazon.com toy outlet - some sets are as high as 60% off - snap up the Rock Raiders sets - they are discontinued!!! Even if you don't collect them or save them for the offspring... they can bring in a nice sum of cashola at an auction.
Going back for more right now... ^V^ Freak ^V^

Shrine to Legos (Reply to this comment)

For a fun family trip, go the the Mall of America (Bloomington, MN) and visit Legoland...huge display of Lego structures (dinosaurs, clocks, trees, etc.,), lots to shop for, and they have Legos you can play with! It's a grand time.
Good 'e'

Since my Dad was a nuclear defense engineer... (Reply to this comment)
by thom413
I used to build sprawling suburban Lego streets, with a Girder and Panel highrise business district. After "nuking" them with footballs, I would round up the survivors, who would colonize Mars. This kept me out of trouble for weeks at a time. Ah, the Cold War.
What a great, evocative review! I'm glad this great toy is serving a new generation of (hopefully less nervous) kids well.
Best regards,
Tom

Have you seen the LEGO Dinosaurs yet??? (Reply to this comment)
by JediKermit
Hey, FREAK!
I was in ShopKo the other day with my wife, ostensibly pricing Baby Stuff (we're looking at spawning some kind of offspring in the next year or so...), and I HAPPENED to cruise down the toy aisle and found the JACKPOT of LEGO Dinosaurs! They have four different large sets and four small sets, and they're amazing--just a Dinosaur, but each set can be used to make four different dinos. The T-Rex can also make a Spinosaurus, an Iguanodon, and something else....the Mosasaur can make a Dimetrodon, Plesiosaur, and another...very very cool. I'll be buying all eight. Just as SOON as my EP check gets in.
Anyway, great review, and check out the Dinos at Lego.com....you and your pups will probably dig 'em.
