Intimate, Fun, Different, Cheaper than a hometown wedding. Dreams can come true!

The Bottom Line It was a Dream wedding! It was The Best wedding I have ever been too! Looking for no worries and a lot of fun? This is the wedding to have!
My husband and I met in Disney world on New Years Eve. It was magic. When we got engaged 4 years later, we thought a Disney wedding was the way to go. I have heard horror stories of people planning weddings and things not going the way they thought it would. The Disney Wedding Counselors were excellent! They sent me lots of info and colored pictures. All we had to do is say what we wanted and fit it all into our budget. There is a minimum amount of money you need to spend to have a Disney wedding. Two years ago, it was ten thousand dollars. I'm sure it has changed by now. I had no worries and the day of the wedding I was treated like royalty. Everything was absolutely beautiful. Flowers, our hair, make up, food, decor were all done through Disney. Photographer and Minister were really the only things I needed to get on my own. We got a video of the wedding and watch it all the time.
We had the ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion and the reception at the Grand Floridian Hotel. As we were leaving the pavilion and walked over the bridge, we let doves fly from our hands. This was exciting and made for a great picture. We didn't get the glass carriage since it didn't fit into our budget but instead got an old Disney car with a handsome little old man as the driver. We had a staged exit in this car. This was such a Great time!
Another good thing about a Disney wedding is that we only had 31 people attend. It was a small intimate affair with only our closest friends and relatives. The people that really wanted to be there flew down to make our day even more special. Disney offers discounted room rates and a special park pass for your guests so be sure to take advantage of that. They need to buy the pass before they fly down. I honestly believe that if we had the wedding in our home town, it would have cost twice as much as our Disney wedding, tens times the amount of worries...we would have had about 200 people attend, and definitely not as much fun as Disney was.
Our family and friends that did attend made the event a mini vacation for themselves so we got to visit the parks and other Disney things with all of them. I'm not sure if that is a pro or a con. No privacy but it was fun to spend more time with our guests.
Please feel free to drop me an email at haiku112@hotmail.com if you have any other questions about our Disney Wedding.
Thanks.
