Order delivered on time as promised!

I was looking for a new Easton baseball bat for my son and found the right item at the right price at SportsAuthority.com. After reading so many negative reviews on Epinions, I decided to check out some other user opinions sites and found mixed reviews. "Should I do it?" I kept asking myself. After all, SportsAuthority.com had the item at 20% off their already low price. I decided to roll the dice and place an order.
But, before I went ahead, I took some precautions. I decided to see if the online system's inventory reflected realtime warehouse stock (after reading some reviews on how the item was actually NOT in stock), so I tried putting 10 of the same bat (i.e. same weight, same length) into my cart. No go! The system said that they only had ONE in stock! I called their order line and spoke to a very polite and professional sounding lady. I told her I needed three (3) of this same bat. She confirmed that they only showed one (1) bat in stock and apologized for the inconvenience. Well, it seemed that their online system was accurate. I told her I'd order online.
I went ahead and placed the order on 06/14/2005. My son was anxious to get the new bat, so I opted for the FedEx Saver delivery (2-3 business days) which was a little more. On 06/15/2005, the bat was shipped, and two days later, it arrived as promised!
Needless to say I am happy that my order went smoothly. I had no problem reaching anyone by phone for my "pre-sales" questions. The bat arrived in good condition! Included with the packing slip/invoice were a couple of return tags in case I decided to return the item, which I thought was a nice touch. I can't comment on "post-sales" experience since my order went so well and I have had no need to contact customer service.
Overall, it was a good online buying experience. The site is organized nicely and the registration and ordering process was very straightforward. One thing that did bother me was that their online promotions and discounts seem to change often and without notice of when they might end. I was lucky to get the 20% discount because 2 days later it was no longer on sale, but I had no way of knowing that.
Like I said, good experience, and I would purchase from them again.
