Curlew and Midges .... (Reply to this comment)
by gaelkm, in Hotels & Travel
...are two words I did not hear while we were there. Guess I'll just have to come back (and discover another lovely area of England too!)
Happy Belated B-day, Chris!

Ooh yes, a lovely area. I was tempted to stray into Middleton in Teesdale and High Force country in my review, but decided I'd save them for another day!
Thanks for dropping by

Well... has to be done. I took advantage of the occasion, although my fat bum almost got stuck in the slide halfway down!
My friends were very indulgent lol
Thanks Peggy - glad you enjoyed the image!

Don't worry - you succeded in making me laugh. I always leave my review title as a frantic after thought - usually as I'm sat there with the review in draft... Sometimes they work, sometimes they dont lol
Thanks as always for dropping by. Hey, schools out - it's time you wrote another of your detailed and fascinating reviews ;o)

Heh, I didn't think the UK was so exotic. Midges are the worst - tiny biting mosquitoes. Curlews are birds, but your comment has made me pause... did I mean Curlew, or was it a Peewit. I'll have to ponder that one now!
As for my birthday - I've officially stopped celebrating it now and I'm in denial about my age lol!
Thanks for dropping by Deb - I always appreciate it

I always learn a thing or two from your ever so interesting reviews, Chris. Both words are new to me. Forty and fabulous, you are! What a wonderful birthday treat. Do tell me your actual birthday, so that I might remember it next year.
Cheers to you!

Your title reminds me --- (Reply to this comment)
by gillandtony, in Hotels & Travel
- of the alleged sign in a laundrette -- "Nut screws washers and bolts". It is six o'clock in the morning (what am I doing reading reviews at this early hour? I need to have my brain tested). My mind refuses to think of a suitable combination to make you laugh.
Interesting review. I have not been there.
Gill.
P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY !

I grew up on the Tyne, near the Cumbrian border. You review brought back memories of the borderlands. Thanks.
