| sportsweek's Full Review: 2004 GMC Envoy XUV |
My Wife and I Purchased a GMC Envoy XUV last December and I have grown to love it so much I had to share my satisfaction with all of you. First the specs from GM. . .
The most adaptable SUV ever it adjusts to any lifestyle.
Standard Vortec 4200 inline 6-cylinder engine with 4-speed automatic transmission and available Vortec 5300 V8
Power-sliding rear roof, Next Generation Midgate with power glass, dual-function drop or swing tailgate, and all-weather cargo area
Available 4-wheel drive with Autotrac
Seating for up to five
Standard OnStar* with one year Safe and Sound service and available XM Satellite Radio***
We wanted the XUV because my wife owns an antique store and we move around quite a bit of furniture. The Power-sliding rear roof is a godsend. Without out we may have considered a pick-up truck but this is amazing. You get all the room of an SUV but this sucker can magically transform into a pick-up with the mere push of a button. What's also great is the far rear is made of a poly-urethane type of substance. You say big deal well listen to this - if you're hauling something messy, when you're done you can close the back seat window and clean out your bed with a hose . . . try that in your traditional SUV.
The 4-wheel drive is also awesome with plenty of power. We took it on the beach a few weeks ago and while having a great time we wound up having to pull out 2 other trucks.
We also love the pre-installed XM Satellite radio and On-Star service. The interior of the cabin is very roomy and comfortable and the included sound system is more than adequate.
With the GM Employee discount in place you can have one of these babies for under $30000 which in my opinion is an absolute steal. If you're in the market for a truck than can do virtually anything a pick-up or an suv can . . . make this your ride.
