Portable MP3 players are a blast and easy to understand. But first you need to know what an MP3 is...

I think you gave me a crash course in MP3 terminology. I have seen them in the electronics stores as well as the discs but I had NO idea what it even was. I still haven't even learned how to burn a CD yet......which is my next goal. I haven't even downloaded music yet, which my husband REALLY wants me to do since he is computer illiterate. (ha) Thanks for taking the time to write the review: MP3 for Dummies!!

Thanks for a very informative review! I really had no idea what all the hype about MP3 was, now I do! I haven't made any for a while, but I do have quite a few all song wavs and yes, they are huge! LOL Great review.

I was reading through here, and there's just no good explanation of an MP3 itself. So I did my best. Thanks for the feedback!

for your clear explanation. I haven't looked into anything involving MP3 just because, as you point out, if you don't know what the different music files mean, then you won't know what to look for in a player. Now I understand all the Napster fuss and why people are downloading so much music, because they have to have the different format for their players.
