Thanks Gill
Yes I agree Qatar Airways are generally good, but going via Doha is a long detour for me.
However I flew back on Druk Air, op to follow shortly, and they too were very good!
Cheers

We think that we will stick to Quatar Airlines. (Reply to this comment)

Three glasses of champagne (we only ordered two) and the flight to Doha was a bit of a blur. Well, actually, I missed it as I fell asleep ! Tony may be able to tell you all about it for your next trip.
Glad to see such enthusiasm for Nepal even on a business trip. Have a look at the photo on our profile page. I took it in the gardens of a monastery in the hills, just above Kathmandu.

Yes indeed, and of course, why should one not expect one's staff to sit with one, perish the thought that one should have to look after one's own child!
It's common in the middle east to see father and older sons in First Class, mother and daughters in business, and the nannies in Economy!

Thanks Michelle, yes I was quite impressed with the food, and getting a hot meal on a short flight. I can't believe that so many "full service" airlines get away with providing nothing on 1.5-2 hours flights.
Sorry to have missed you at the London M&G!

So.... (Reply to this comment)

"As I settled into my seat, a family went through into Business Class and sat down. The mother then came to the cabin divider and summoned her maid from economy to join them, to look after the child of course. As the maid sat herself down in business, I caught the eye of the steward.
"Can I upgrade myself too?" I asked, smiling sweetly.
"No sorry sir," he shook his head.
"Why not?" I asked. "Do I have to be looking after someone's child?"
He ignored me and closed the curtain. However to my satisfaction, a few minutes later someone sent the maid back to economy and the mother had to look after her own child - at least for a little while.
So, the typical advantage for the important few is alive and well, eh? Why am I not surprised?

With Royal Nepal Air getting to Kathmandu from Delhi. But on another trip (domestic) they were about 5 hours late and we were forced to listen to some guy play a flute-like thing... Of course that was 10 years ago.

food for a 90 minute flight. I think a flight must be over 2 hours for a US airline to serve food. Personally I'm fine with it because I hate the carts clogging up the aisle, but your meal sounded relatively decent. Very interesting review with an airline I've never heard of, I noticed you were the first review :). Great job!
