Pros: Very user friendly, pretty efficient, good DVD playback.
Cons: Doesn't have a decent writing program installed, and often times has problems manipulating memory.
The Bottom Line: The G4 is a very efficient machine and definitely user friendly. Anyone from the ages of 5 to 105 could use this computer!

Macintosh computers have always been easier to use than PC's. They have always been user friendly and it's usually a piece of cake to get in and out of programs. Not only that, but the Mac G4 is pretty efficient and fast, even for a base model. I only wish these computers were used with as much bulk as PC's are used.
The Mac G4 is one of the best user friendly machines I have had the pleasure to use. It's always easy to save downloads or take pictures, and even to go in and out of programs. It would be pretty difficult to get lost while using a G4. Not only is this machine user friendly, but Mac OS 9 has made the computer that much faster. It's startup time is very quick and it can sign on to the internet fairly quickly as well. Downloading time is usually very efficient also, and it depends on what you're downloading. I have a 56k modem,and it is pretty fast, at least, it's faster than older Macs that used 28k modems. The DVD playback quality of the G4 is also pretty good, although a DVD does look better on a television than it does on the computer.
One of the problems with a G4 is that it doesn't really come installed with a decent writing program. I tried to use Simple Text as a writing program and it just plain stinks! I had to bring in a much older version of Claris Works to have a more organized and efficient writing program. Another thing that becomes annoying with the Macs are the darn memory problems! Often times, the computer has a difficult time manipulating and allocating memory to different programs, so I never know whether I'm allocating too much or not enough memory to a program.
Overall, the Mac G4 is a very good computer to use. It's easy to work with for the most part, and highly efficient. Just make sure to have a decent writing program ready to install. The G4 is a great machine to use for the most part.
