Beauty Control has begun controlling the purse-strings!!

Jul 29 '01 (Updated Aug 28 '01)

The Bottom Line Beauty Control is a great skin care line but be prepared for small quantity and hefty price-tags.

I used to sell Beauty Control five years ago. Okay, so I wasn't an avid seller, I had waitressed for 10 years and didn't much like the public at the time, needless to say I absolutely fell in LOVE with the product!!

I ended up moving and after using most of my own supply kit for myself instead of giving "make-overs" and "color-analysis" I gave the rest of the unused products to my sister (a $300 value). It was after a year without Beauty Control that I wished terribly I had not bowed out.

So after moving to my new neighborhood, and getting into the discussion of make-up and how they do this and that..I sold half my neighbors on Beauty Control and they INSISTED I get them in touch with someone to sell them product.

I decided while I was at it, to buy myself some of the things i missed most: The mint color perfecter (which completely hides any blemish whatsoever and goes beneath foundation) The Bisque foundation (my color analysis color which melds with my skin tone and does not leave streaks, nor does it feel heavier than lotion) Some water-proof Mascara (splurge for my sensitive eyes), The Complete Skin Care Regimen (for my skin type which included the cleanser that will literally make blemished disappear OVERNIGHT if applied and left on) and some NO-SMEAR lipstick liners.

I was very, VERY disappointed with the service but that was not my main shock. When I received the items, one bottle of toner, one bottle of cleanser, one squeeze bottle of facial scrub with microderm crystals, 2 lip pencils, 1 mascara, 1 Lip-Appeal (takes off dead skin from lips and then coats with balm), 1 bottle of liquid foundation and 1 bottle of color perfecter....they were all able to fit in a little gift bag...the kind you use for a birthday gift. The small ones. Tiny.

Last I remember the bottles alone would have probably filled the darn bag aside from a lipstick pencil or two. I was very disappointed. I am NOT saying it doesn't work. The lipstick pencils are awesome, no smudging and no re-applying after I eat or drink. The blemishes still disappear overnight...but the bang for the buck is just a little smaller if you will. I'd say at least 5 ounces smaller. I paid $140. I'd better start whipping up some home-made stuff soon!!
