When we decided that we wanted to go to Las Vegas for our anniversary we were trying to decide how to book the trip. My husband said that he heard a lot of good things from his job about Travelocity so we decided to try it.
Getting started: When I logged onto the website..(www.travelocity.com) I found "Find Me The Best Price Trip!" and requested information on flight and hotel reservations. I entered the dates I was interested in, what time we approximately wanted to leave, and how many people. We chose to leave from Philly's airport..PHL and Las Vegas's airport code is LAS even though the airport is called McCairn International.
From there you get a list of flights that are available and the hotels that are available with prices in per person and per couple.
We decided to go with the Bellagio because for one, it was our anniversary and two, it really wasn't as expensive as my husband had originally thought. Plus we were curious to see if it was really worth all the hype...
Setting things up: Once we figured out a plan Travelocity has you register with a user name and password. Nothing else...It's really simple. As soon as you put your credit information in and finalized everything you're all set. Travelocity will give you a confirmation number and ask you to print out the itinerary before leaving for the airport.
Seat assignment: We were able to chose our seats when we booked the vacation but not on the way home. We had to book our seats for the trip home at the Vegas airport which was very easy.
Airport check-in was a breeze at both airports. For the Philly airport, we went to the self check-in, put our card into what looked like an ATM slot and it automatically showed our names and allowed us to print our tickets right there. No confirmation number was needed.
Customer Service: If we had any questions or concerns all we had to do was call 1-888-travelocity or 1-888-872-8356 or visit their website www.travelocity.com and go under the heading of 'My stuff' or 'Customer Care'.
Traveler's Insurance: Travelocity recommends that you purchase Travelers Insurance just in case any unforseen circumstances keep you from your reservation. It's worth it if you have kids to worry about. No, we didn't bring our son to Las Vegas...but it was just in case he got sick and we had to postpone the trip. Then there would be no penalty.
Other services offered: You can also search for hotels, plan a cruise, or rent a car. Even shop for 'Last minute Deals' for those times when you just need to get away right away!
All major credit cards are accepted by Travelocity.
Final Thoughts: This was a great website to book our vacation through. It was very easy to navigate and we had the option of printing our confirmation when we booked the reservation or right before the reservation or both. That's even if you need the confirmation number at all. I definitely recommend this website for anyone planning a trip.
Thanks for reading and Happy Trails!
:-)Jen
