The lure by "free shipping" led to my decision to purchase several items from Music123, which I now regret. Of seven items ordered, six were listed as "in stock", and I was provided a shipment date and FedEx tracking number in the website information for my order. The seventh item was backordered.
When the box with that tracking number arrived, I found that only two of the six items had been included on the Packing List. The website status of all six items was now reflected as "Delivered". I sent email to customer service about the missing four items (including a moderately priced guitar), but it was not responded to. When I called, I was told by both a phone rep and a manager that they are in the process of consolidating warehouses and many shipments are delayed (thousands). They explained that the way their order tracking system works, all in-stock items are assigned the same shipment tracking number, regardless whether they actually are going to be sent in that shipment or not. (!!) That's just the way their computer system works, sorry. They checked "a different system" and told me that some of those 6 items had actually not even shipped yet, but they couldn't tell which ones, or provide an estimated actual ship date. They said the reason they had not responded to my email was because they were 4000 messages behind in answering.
This is the most ridiculous and preposterous situation I have ever encountered in 'mail order' or 'online' purchasing in my entire life. It is beyond belief that a company can pretend to operate in this manner. I hope others will beware.
