Pros: Getting rid of it!
Cons: Everything!
The Bottom Line: Like I said, some products provide good experiences and others provide bad. I can only share "our" experience. You still have to draw your own conclusions.

| rocoboko's Full Review: Norton AntiVirus 2003 Professional Edition |
The anti-virus subscription that came with our computer was about to expire. For the life of me I can't remember what it was and why we didn't just re-subscribe as I don't recall having any issues, but instead struck out on our own to purchase an anti-virus program.
In asking around and getting input from others, it sounded as if Norton Anti-Virus was a good way to go. As with any product, there are those that have good experiences and those that have bad, but for the most part Norton Anti-Virus was getting favorably reviews from those we spoke with.
So we went on-line and purchased and downloaded it. All seemed to be working fine at first, but then our computer started getting sluggish. I did all the suggested remedies given by Norton Anti-Virus as well as running all system checks available, which I do on regular basis anyway.
I admit it, I'm no computer nerd. If fact I know how to turn it on and off and that's about it! But I can call technical support and follow trouble shooting guides - none of which provided any insight to or relief from the problem. We even reloaded the Norton Anti-Virus, just in case something had gone wrong with the original download. Still no solution.
The computer kept getting worse and worse. We kept thinking "we must have a virus", but when we ran a virus check the Norton Anti-Virus didn't reveal anything ... nothing!
Then we purchased cell phones and ended up switching I.S.P.'s because the cell phone company was running a special and we could save $25.00/month. That I.S.P. included an anti-virus program with their service. So we downloaded it, ran a virus check and it found over 100 viruses on our computer! 116 to be exact!! And I can't even begin to remember how much spyware/adware it found. We cleaned everything up - including dumping the Norton Anti-Virus and have been running smooth (and virus free) every since.
SO ... in my humble epinion ... save yourself a great deal of time, frustration and headaches. Don't purchase Norton Anti-Virus ... it's a waste of money.
