~~Mommy listen to this cool song~~

The Bottom Line Freedom of expression should be allowed as long as it is not derogatory of race, sex or social class.

Artists have held up their end of the bargain when parents asked for the music cover to be rated. We know what we are buying and what is inside the plastic covered hardbound case that is nearing impossible to open.

Stores have held up their end of the bargain by not selling to children the music that is not age appropriate.

Parents hold the greatest responsibility. We know what is out there; we know what we do not want our children listening to. What we need to also be aware of is regardless of how much we try these kids can get the music from various places.

Children also have the brunt of responsibility, oh, don't groan you know it is true. I have teens, and you have no idea what can happen. You teach them well, hope to God you have given them enough information to make wise choices. But that is no promise it will happen.

All I am saying is one child, with one CD burner can make any song on any computer that you do not want your child to have available at the mere cost of $2.50/five songs in my area. Good huh?

Let's not forget about Naptser, Aimster, Morphesos, and MP3 download It is out there, deal with it. Make yourself aware of what your child is listening too.

On the other hand freedom of expression should be allowed as long as it is not derogatory of race, sex or social class. There are some definite words I hate, N... , B..., C..., HO. Man I hate them with a purple passion. Kids now a day tell me it’s just the "in" thing to do and say. Normal language, my butt its normal. It shows lack of respect for women and races that just ticks me off. Yes, those words are very offensive to me. OK, I can deal with "back that thang up on me", or even in our generation " I want a man with a slow hand", those are all sexually suggestive yet we accepted them. We loved them, is the "new" way any different. I am riding the fence, but our music was done with class and taste, it insinuated but never degraded.

I hope this made sense, thanks for reading B.
