Spam, Disgusting in Both Forms.

The Bottom Line Canned meat and horrible emails, they sure do go together.
First of all it is almost impossible to prevent all spam email, but you can try as hard as possible to do so. Most email providers now also have a spam email detector and will eliminate them if you choose to, however some of them don’t work. I have email accounts with hotmail and Earthlink and have used Mindspring as well. The service for Hotmail is horrible and Earthlink and Mindspring, once being separate companies and now united offer an excellent service.
With our Earthlink account my husband has opted to use the detector and we get very few spam emails. It has been said that you shouldn’t open these emails and just delete them, but if we receive a few from the same company we have chosen to contact the company regarding the emails. We pretty much unsubscribe from whatever it is that we were receiving or tell them not to send us anymore junk.
It usually works.
For my Hotmail account, they do have a service as well, but it doesn’t work so well. I receive junk emails constantly. I use this account for business purposes more than anything, so it is quite annoying to continuously receive junk emails. These I just throw out. I would spend more time writing to the companies requesting not to have letters sent to me than deleting them.
I choose to keep this account open because it is for my business and I prefer them over other free email services. I have done my research in this arena and prefer Hotmail.
Hope you make the right choices for you. Good luck.
