The Bottom Line Don't be afraid to invest some money in a nice pair of kangaroo leather cleats. They will last and be very comfortable.
When it comes to soccer cleats, you need to know what you want. IT pays to try ono everything and make sure that what you're about to buy is best for you. IT should be comfortable, snug, have good support and when you have them on, you shouldn't have to worry about your shoes.
IF your feet aren't going to grow any more, I would recommend only kangaroo leather cleats, or a new version of leather called Pittards leather. Both are very soft and will mold to your feet. They give you the best touch. If you are thinking about playing a lot of soccer, k-leather cleats are THE best. You might want to stay away from them if your feet are going to grow more, because most k-leather cleats start at $90 and go any where up to $160. A good reg. leather cleat is the Adidas Kaiser. It look s just like the popular Copa Mundial, but without the k-leater (and the high price).
When trying on cleats, it is a good idea not to buy online, because soccer cleats fit much differently than say running shoes. They should be fairly tight, but comfortable. They should fit like a glove. IT is really hard to get this right fit without going to a specialty store or a sporting goods store. Try on the size you think you'd wear but also try on the size above and below it. If you've never bought nice cleats before, don't hesitate if they are tight. Not neccesarily tight in the toe box to the point where you have to scrunch up you toe, but very snug. Good k-leather cleats WILL expand not a half - size, but enough to mold perfectly to your foot. If at all possible take someone who knows their stuff with you.
Don't be afraid to spend some money when buying nice cleats. When taken care of, cleats can last even 5 years and at the end of the shoes life, the leather will be broken in and feel like slippers (only if you take care of them). Think of it as an inventment. Good cleats CANNOT improve your game but it does help when you don't even have to think about your cleats.
