Toshiba is the number one seller of notebook computers in the world currently. Compaq, Dell, and IBM make up the next three (although I may have switched IBM and Dell's places on the list).
Gateway, Sony, and Winbook hld very little market share in the notebook sector although I've always liked Winbook's quality and I've been 50/50 with Gateways and Sonys.

Well, I've never used a Toshiba, but you seem like a reputable source, so I'll add it! Thanks for the advice!

"Those companies include Dell, Compaq, Gateway, WinBook, IBM, and Sony."
Where's Toshiba? In my humble opinion, they make the most solid and thoughtfully designed PC Notebooks out there. They are far better in build quality than the American makes, and don't have Sony's compatibility issues.

I'm sorry to all of you, but I had started this review a while ago, and when I came to post it, I realized that there was no longer a section for overall laptop buying guides. Please don't give me a bad rating for this. If you feel I should move it to a more apropiate place, tell me where and just don't review it at all!
