I personally don't leave home without it. (It's like the force... it's got a light side, a dark side and it holds the world together.)
Also, when I went to college, I brought a small tool kit with a hammer and socket wrench set. I lent out one of those two items a lot, met everyone in my dorm, and became known as the nice girl with the tools. It turned out at my school you could get a bunk/ loft bed kit from maintenance, but it required a hammer and socket set to get it together. Just something to consider when thinking about what to pack.

I've been in college for several years and this is a very good list. Looks like all the basics were covered. Highly recommended to print this out and use it!
