The Bottom Line: Buy this camera for its image quality - you won't be too pleased on other aspects.

The 370 has a plastic body with a metallic finish and is pretty light to hold - even once you've popped in two AA betteries which the camera requires, it doesn't get unwiedly. Most Samsung Cameras accept only SD and MMC cards. However, this one will allow you to use SD, MMC, Memory Stick Pro/Duo. That's quite a lot of flash memory support.

The menus take a while to get used to, but are in no way confusion. The samsung has combined the functionality and the setup aspects under the same menu. From the options you can adjust white balance and metering, choose from the three available JPEG compression tools, apply effects like Sepia or B/W and set the sharpness of the image. The camera features manual white balancing and will allow you to tamper with the exposure. Other than that, there is a seperate option on the jog dial for Scenes.

Here you can choose from a list of scenes to suit the occassion. This could be from fireworks to a close-up or from a Sunset to Beach & Snow. This makes the camera very suitable for point-and-shoot use. The macro mode of the camera works pertty well too.

You can get up to as close as 5cm from the subject at complete wide-angles, that is.

Upon using the camera, the color reproduction and resolutions was very good and it captured finer details that other cameras in its range. The camera features absolutely no purple fringing and the holes in the CPU socket could be seen clearly - and this is only a 3.2 MegaPixel Camera! Some of the 5 MP cameras couldn'y accurately show the holes on the processor socket. Using a flash, the overal contrast of the image was good too.
