| the_hamster's Full Review: Altec Lansing ACS 22 Computer Speakers |
i first came across these speakers at a friends, turned up the volume expecting total distortion, but out came the clearest loudest sound i have ever heard from a pair of desktop computer speakers.
they have surprising bass for little speakers (read: not subwoofer quality, yet far better than most), and relatively good high end, again, not quality of a good tweeter, but nice enough for desktop speakers.
their construction is of high quality, cables etc are also good quality, won't fall apart on me anytime soon from what i can see.
had one problem with the first set, power button broke, had to get replaced under warranty.
the main con to these i can find i the fact they only have a volume adjustment, no built in bass/treble adjustment, but that's not a very big deal. it's adjustable in the computer itself.
i use them mainly at night etc, i have a bigger system hooked up to the computer as well, but it's too bassy and loud for at night, so these do the sound for me.
