| LILvoyce's Full Review: Tide Coldwater |
Well, I had no idea what I was buying at the time. I was in a hurry and saw the words TIDE on the box. I smelled the new "Glacier Scent," and was on my way.
I get home and noticed what I have purchased. I agreed to try it because I have always loved Tide products.
Description
Tide Coldwater is just like your regular Tide, but you are able to wash all of your clothing in cold water. The purpose of this is to Save Energy and Money, according to the claim on the box. I made the 87 oz purchase in the powder, claiming to do 31 loads. The box itself had ice and snow decorated on it. I don't remember what I paid for the product, as I was in a hurry and at the time did not care.
My Experiences
One scoop of Tide was enough to do a full load of whites or colors. My clothing came out nice and bright, just like it does with the regular Tide. I really loved the smell of the Glacier scent. It makes my whole laundry room smell very nice at all times.
I got to detail cleaning one day. I decided to wash my curtains, and came up with a brain storm for my cloth lamp shades. I am not recommending anyone wash their lampshades like I have! I don't want to be responsible for damaged shades!
I have these antique lamp shades that my grandmother had paid over $400 a piece for. They looked terrible because no one knew how to clean them and was afraid to mess with them. My mom would simply take a blow dryer and blow the dust off of it. Due to smoking and other dusts, the lamp shades looked a pale shade of brown. They were suppose to be peach in color.
I went out on the porch, and when I wash my curtains I usually take a soapy bucket of tide to soak the curtains in, followed by a clear cold rinse. I had thought, why not do this with the lamp shades??
I went in and got my long wash tub out. I filled a few inches with the cold water and about 2 scoops of the Tide Coldwater. I had figured that the cold water would not cause color fading to the shades.
I gently rolled the lamp shades into the soapy mixture. Instantly, I could see years of dirt and dust coming out from the shade. Oh My GOSH! It worked! The lamp shades came out so beautiful. I rinsed carefully. Set the shades out to air dry. They looked brand new. I was impressed. There was no fading of the peach color at all. What was suppose to come out did, and that was the dirt!
This product is definitely a keeper! I love what it did for my curtains, shades, and clothing. My mother came in one day and about fell over when she saw the shades on the lamps. She wanted to know how much I paid to get the shades cleaned, and who in the world I trusted to do such a thing?!? When I told her she did not believe me. She still thinks I paid someone to clean them. She could not get over how clean they looked.
I will be a repeat buyer of ALL Tide detergents, especially the Tide Coldwater.
Warnings and Cautions:
