I joined PF about a year ago and initially was happy with my $10/month fee. It was busy but it thinned out around 7pm. In January, PF got their usual influx of members with new year's resolutions. I figured it would thin out around February.

Not so,

This gym kept the low monthly rates and start up fees to attract as many members as possible. At one time there were 12 people lined up for cardio equipment. . .looking back I suppose this is understandable at peak time in midwinter.

The problem I have with the gym is this. . . .the members continue to grow, there is never any parking and you can't use the equipment - it's too busy. I tried 4 or 5 times to go to PF in the summer. . at random times, 9am. 10, 2pm, you name it. . it was always packed.

So today, I started a new leaf. I decided to go at 3:30. Not too bad parking, got a cardio very quickly. Then I went to the weights. I did 2 reps on an arm machine then then did some crunches. I went back for my last rep and 2 macho men were 'preparing' to use the machine. I politely asked to finish one more rep and they agreed.

Normally I would have continued on that machine but I went to something else, I wasn't partial to the order. . .Later on in my work out, the arm machine was free. I went to use it. The two macho guys were nearby and said that I couldn't use it because they were using it. I nicely said, but it's free right now. One guy said well we are using it, we are in a routine. Starting to get frustrated, I spoke up, 'what about MY routine, I changed it once already so you could use this'. . .so on and so forth. Needless to say, I walked out and am cancelling my membership. 3.30 on a Monday and I can't use a machine. What a way to start my week.

I let PF know that I thought they had too many members and what members they did have are disrespectful to other members. It's like dog eats dog. I'm sure other gyms are busy and I'll have to wait a bit. I'm sure there will be other members that have attitudes like that. . But today was the straw that broke the camel's back.
