For my 100th review, I wanted to do something special. Something that deserves anyone's attention who has an interest in electronics. This is my review on BestBuy.com! BestBuy has to be the most underrated store or on-line store ever! If you would look at all the reviews on this store, you would notice that most of them aren't even Very Helpful or even a Helpful review. They are mostly people who just hate BestBuy with either one tiny that that p*ssed them off or even the most famous one-costumers getting confused and taking it out on BestBuy! Believe me, BestBuy is a very nice and pleasant store/on-line store. This is my review on the best store on many electronics they carry. BestBuy carries CDS, movies, DVDS, refrigerators, TVS, cameras, washers and dryers, videogames, computer software, computers and laptops and I think that is it. Really, a person who loves electronics will have a ball in there. I know I do when I go in the store.
On-Line BestBuy: The appearance is simple--BestBuy logo on the upper-right-hand corner with all the stuff that they go(weekly ad, week's specials along with clicks on the products they have--music, movies etc.) In the middle of the page is usually pictures of specials with at the bottom of the page is all the customer service and the company information, shopping services etc. Anything you need assistance on should all be at the bottom). The search boxes are up at the left-upper corner. Click in the box and type what you are looking for and click on the box right beside that and click on the category that it is in. Then hit GO!
Then, the page will come up with what they found. If you see what you want, click the page that is one and when every comes up, click on Add to cart(be sure you have an account with them. If not, you join and that page can be found in the yellow box in the right middle to the right of the main page below the BestBuy logo) Once your product is added to your cart, another page will come up with your shipping and zip code taxes. Put in your zip code to get the tax and choose which shipping you would like--next day, second day or in a couple of days. The sooner is the highest. After adding the tax, hit Checkout and that should bring you up to the page about Review and Submit your order. Here, you just review on what your address, name, product and the products price along with the tax included. After you review it, you can either send the order in or you can cancel it. These two buttons are side-by-side at the bottom screen.
After you send it in, the next page you will come to is a page where BestBuy is processing your order and then another page comes up about the store processing your order and then the store thanks you and takes you to a page where you can print it out to have it as a receipt which has the arrival date you will have it by along with your name and address with the price of the product you bought, how much they charged your credit card and your order number to track your package. Also, it does not take BestBuy immediately to process your oder and ship it. It takes at least a day for the store to process your order and ship it so please don't expect it in 3 days. It takes a few more days. A week and a half or so. Please print your receipt out folks.
Periodically, BestBuy.com will send you an email about where your product is at. Be sure to check almost every day to see where your package is at. You can do this when you go to your account. Also, something that is good to hear, BestBuy.com DOES NOT charge your credit card until your post-office has received your package. Ain't that just cool? Also, coming along with your package, you receive your receipt to your package along with information on how to return your item if it doesn't work properly. This is my experience with BestBuy.com. I bought Tommy Lee's music CD titled Never A Dull Moment. I have bought other things in the past but I decided to do the recent.
8/31/05--I processed my order. Got my receipt and the estimated time arrival is 9/3-9/2005. Got an email involving all the info and how to get more info about my product, prices and the shipping details.
9/1/05--My CD shipped and it's on my way from Franklin Park, IL. I will receive my package in 3 to 7 business days. Got an email from BestBuy.com saying my shipment is on its way and saying my shipment is in DC coming this way.
9/3/05--My CD has shipped to my regional post-office and I should receive it in 1-3 business days!
9/6/05--I received my CD in a white, long envelope that has bubbles inside of the package to keep away from the cold and heat. My CD came in a pretty good condition, it had a few scratches on the CD case cover but it's all good as the CD came in mint condition CD quality wise. I would have received my package yesterday but it was a holiday so yeah, my CD came right on time!
My Review On My Product: Tommy Lee--Never A Dull Moment NOTE: I reviewed this CD while listening to the whole product over the internet which at that time, I did not have my CD. Ain't I just a cheater?
Overall Thoughts On My BestBuy.com Experience: I am very pleased with BestBuy.com and I would highly recommend them as I couldn't think of a better store to purchase electronics from.
BestBuy Store: This part of review is based on the BestBuy store located in Lynchburg in Virginia.
The look of the stores are huge, in fact, you can fit a Wal-Mart in there. As soon as you get out of your vehicle, the building is usually blue with a big bright BestBuy logo with a yellow in the background on either the right or the left of the entrance(usually right side). The doors to the place are usually sliding with their red structures. In Lynchburg, they have bubble-gum machines etc. as soon as you get in the sliding door entrance and as soon as you walk through the second set of sliding doors, you will come inside THE store. You will notice how huge the building is and how many electronics you have at your hand. Suddenly as you walk in, a doorman greets you as I will explain in the second paragraph.
Something so impressive at BestBuy stores is that as soon as you walk in the sliding doors, you are greeted and welcomed by a doorman. They either say Good Morning or Good Afternoon. When you leave, you are actually greeted like this Have a nice day or Thanks for shopping at BestBuy.
The employees are very friendly there and they are always there to assist you when you need help. In fact, the employees go out of their way to go around the store and ask any costumers if they need help with anything. If you do need help, they would go search the store for it along with you and if the employee can't find it, then the employee would go to the computer between the aisles to look up the product that you are searching/hunting for at BestBuy.com. There, they will ask you if you want them to order it from one of the BestBuy stores that do have it and deliver it to the BestBuy store that you are standing and you can pick it up when it arrives in OR order it on-line and ship it to your house. They don't force you to do things either which many people will find that relaxing to hear.
Now back to the store, the place is very clean, not a piece of trash anywhere as you can feel at eased that you won't step in sticky gum. The floors are blue which isn't a surprise. They look like the employees vacuum everyday. The smell(yeah, I said smell) of the place isn't dirty or smell like a Goodwill place. It's fresh and allergy free! Unless you are allergic to electronics! The aisles are back-to-back with two aisles facing each other frontal. Now, the aisles are the biggest problem with the Lynchburg store, the aisles aren't that wide. Possibly, only two people can pass each other and God help you if a fat person walks by you(I have nothing against fat people) but the aisles are extremely narrow. Good thing is, many people can go through the aisles as the aisles are pretty long but once again, when people want to get out of the aisles as the aisles are packed, you will have a problem. HOWEVER, not all BestBuy stores are like this. In fact, the BestBuy store in Richmond, Virginia has wider and I mean wider space between the aisles. Very spacey I say!
Since the store has so much products, the products themselves are organized into their category. For an example, CDS go into the CD aisle while the DVDs go into the DVD aisle. Also, that goes for the TVs, videogames, computers, computer software etc. They all have their aisles and I mean aisles as they usually have several aisles of each type of product. Sometimes, you will not find your product in the store as you should ask an employee to help you find it in the store or order directly from there.
The check-out counters are usually in their own side of the store as in Lynchburg, the check-out counters are a sharp left as soon as you pass the doorman. To be impressed, the check-out counters are not messy, they are clean with their black tops and blue sides.
For the Customer Service, you take a sharp right as soon as you pass the doorman. The counter is one long counter with black top and blue sides. I have been here a couple of times as I returned two products so far in my life. I returned a videogame and a CD. They didn't ask why but I told them what was wrong. The CD product skipped at the last two songs so the employee played it on their CD player and the employee didn't hear anything come out so she told me to go back and get me the same CD and exchange it. For the videogame product, I actually took this product back three times and exchanged it every time. So on the last straw, the employee told me that they would give me my money back as their whole shipment of them had been a defect and the videogame wouldn't play on any PS2. The customer service isn't pushy like some of the stores. They maintain calm when customers get mad or plain p*ssed off! They act adult about it too!
Bottom Line:
Well, as you can see, BestBuy is a store you can trust which is hard to believe as the negative ratings towards this store. If you would look at 90 percent of the ratings aren't even Very Helpful or Helpful at all. So you buying products off the internet will greatly decrease as you read the past reviews but really, the on-line store is truly trust-worthy. The stores(not on-line) are clean, welcome-friendly and one hell of a huge store that is oozing with electronics. Trust me, BestBuy.com or BestBuy is a store you will like and for me, I love the store!
