The Bottom Line Definitely a trustworthy brand of condom. The Durex Brand has succeeded in providing both protection and comfort at the same time, making for a very trusted line of products.
One of the most important things about using condoms is keeping it safe as well as pleasurable at the same time. This is just one of those things where you have to find what's right for you, well if you're still on the search for that perfect condom, you should definitely give Durex a chance. Now a little bit of history. Coming from the woman's point of view, intercourse can occasionally be very painful. The reason for this can be a multiple of things, it can be because the woman has a considerably smaller opening than most women, because of medical complications, nervousness, or simply because the man performing the action may not go about it the right way. Either way, a condom plays a very important role in how the whole experience ends up. Believe me, if you choose the wrong condom it can be very very very painful, so the condom manufacturers try their hardest either to make it the most natural feeling possible, the most enhanced in pleasure, or both. For the most part there are two types or textures of condoms most commonly used, either ribbed or thin (i.e. natural). I had tried many other brands including the most popular brands and the pretty much nameless ones to find one that made me the most comfortable. Most other brands just don't cut it, the Trojan brand is typically too thick for the man or woman to even feel anything. Lifestyles, another major competitor, just felt too cheaply made to even provide any feeling either. I had been steering clear of the Durex brand all my life simply because I had never heard anything about it, and I'm more likely to try a product, especially one this intimate, when I have heard at least SOME opinion about it. Well finally I received an opinion about the Ultimate Feeling product (in the little yellow box) made by Durex. The person who gave me the opinion had also tried various brands and never found any that provided as comfortable and pleasurable feeling for both partners as this Durex brand, particularly this product. Well after trying them I must say I agree wholeheartedly with this opinion. Most brands that attempt at making a ribbed condom either make them too obtrusive and distracting or too small and unnoticeable, this brand found the perfect medium between the too. Not only that, for being a ribbed variety they're surprisingly thin, which if you're careful during intercourse not to break it, is a really good thing, since we're always trying for the more natural feeling during intercourse while still being careful about our health and pregnancy. Durex's other products shine just as well, even their "normal" brand is incredibly durable as well as having a natural feeling to it. Their thin products include: Extra Sensitive, Enhanced Pleasure, and Natural Feeling. Their condoms for the "larger sizes" are called Ultra Comfort, as well as a condom for those that are allergic to latex, called the Avanti. They even include a condom that's extra durable, called Extra Strength, which I've never had the opportunity to try. Their ribbed varieties include: Ultimate Feeling, Intense Sensation, and High Sensation. Their new product, called Intense Sensation, I would have to not recommend simply because the ribs and studs are too huge, causing incredible distraction and even pain during intercourse. But I can't say the same for everyone, since condoms are just one of those products which provide a different experience for everyone, depending on how sensitive you are or what you enjoy. I've also noticed this brand as being a little bit longer than others, if that matters any. The only negatives I can say about the Durex Brand is that I wish they had more variety in the stores. Maybe there's something I'm missing but in most of the local stores I can only find at most 3 variety's of their product, even if I do only choose one of their products it's nice to have a choice. I'm assuming this is probably the fault of the stores and not the fault of Durex, but I really would like to try all that Durex has to offer. But for only 4.97 at Wal Mart who can complain? The Durex Brand is typically thin, and most users will claim shying away from the brand because of how many times they've ripped them during intercourse. I've personally never had a problem with it, but I suppose it depends on the amount of adventure you actually ensue in during intercourse. I would think this brand would be more for the careful couple, and more for making love than those random flings of passion. Still, after many years of personal research, I have to say I'm a loyal fan of the Durex brand. They've served me well in doing exactly what they're supposed to do, protecting from pregnancy and other things, as well as provide a little extra comfort and pleasure along the way.  |
