I was so excited about trying many of the Burt's Bees products, I bought an entire sample kit for myself! This included a sample of the Rosemary-Mint Shampoo Bar. I had never tried shampoo bars before, so I didn't know what to expect.
Product Claims:
Enjoy superior cleansing with the natural lather of yucca enriched with conditioning plant oils and oat protein. Fresh, invigorating rosemary and mint stimulate the scalp and the senses!
99.90% Natural
Not tested on animals.
Packaging : Since I received this in the sample kit, I had an .8 oz bar of shampoo, not the usual 3.5 oz size. This little bar of shampoo was packaged in a green paper wrapper with Burt's face on it.
My Personal Experience:
I climbed into the shower with the shampoo bar, got my straight asian hair wet, and began lathering up the bar with my hands, as just rubbing it onto my hair didn't seem to work at all. The smell that emanated from the bar was pleasant: a sort of light herbal minty scent. I then rubbed my hands over my scalp, spreading the shampoo everywhere.
This turned out to be a mistake-the shampoo was so tangling, it caused my hair to become a mess that was hard to work my hands though. When I had finished washing my hair and came out of the shower, my hair felt messy and tangled.
When my hair was dry, it felt extremely dry and frizzy, as well as curiously oily. This shampoo had not only failed to clean my hair, it had left it in horrible condition. I quickly went back to using my trusty old Avalon Organics Shampoo, and resigned the Burt's Bees bar to the soap dish.
