I mentioned a couple billion times in my reviews that I like to workout and stay in shape as best I can. I find that when I am dressed for a workout, I put more energy into it than if I am just in a T-Shirt and shorts so I have several pieces of workout wear that I slip into when I want to feel like I am the gym when I am really working out in my living room or my backyard.
I discovered Carushka products after asking a woman in the wrestling business what brand name top she was wearing. It really looked great (on her with her implants and ultra toned frame) and I wanted to get one for myself.
Who is Carushka?
This is a little about the woman who designed the cami spots bra I am reviewing and many other fitness and eclectic items:
* Inventor of the word bodywear, and the founder and sole owner of Carushka Bodywear and ETU Couture.
* Has been called the designer of the "sexiest bodywear in the world" by the press.
* Has turned up the heat in fitness classes with her sensual designs for over 25 years; including the very first striped leotards, the Thong Leotard, Wonder Halter and her peek-a-boo webbed leggings-just to name a few.
The Official Word
This is about the Carushka Cami Bra Top from www.carushka.com:

Says Carushka: “This is the bra I wear the most. I replaced my daytime bra with the Cami because it's so smooth under casual tops, yet there's support without any underwires.”
My Experience
I have a lot of sports bras. Some are cheap and don’t look good or perform well and others, like the Champion Women's Action-Tech Sports Bra are fantastic in looks, fit, and performance.
I picked up a Carushka Cami Bra Top in black despite my hesitation to pay $32.00 for a top that didn’t seem to be very supportive.
It is nicely made with thin T back straps and a sturdy band under the bust for support with out wires that poke. Because mine, in size Medium, is made to fit cup sizes B – D, it is essentially flat and you fill it with your assets. This provides some support but also flattens you out a little.
The top is comfortable and looks nice on but it isn’t made for heavy duty sports. This a great yoga top and looks good under a jacket or sheer top and is a good day bra. But it doesn’t hold up when doing aerobics, running, or any other higher impact sports.
Frankly, I think it’s just a vanity top for people who like Carushka and her off beat line of exercise wear. It is, by no means, worth $32.00. While it looks good, feels comfortable, and gives some support for low impact activities, this cami bra is not for the serious athlete. I am not anywhere near what I consider a “serious athlete” and I find this bra to be lacking for my needs.
However, it washes well (I hand wash mine) and looks good, so if you’re in the market for an overpriced sports bra that is more of a day bra/layering cropped cami bra, this may suit your needs. If you are looking for high impact support, you will be disappointed with this bra.
Buying Info
I went straight to the official website, www.carushka.com, for mine. I believe you can buy this brand on other websites but I haven’t seen many that carry it. Watch out for imitations as I have seen loads of “Carushka inspired” workout wear on the net. That is not to say they are poor quality, they’re just not the originals and they aren’t much cheaper. I have not seen this brand in sporting goods stores but they may carry it in some higher end workout wear stores.
Conclusion
This is functional, pretty cami bra top that is fine for low impact workouts such as yoga and other mat based workouts. It’s also a pretty top on it’s own (if you have the abs to wear it that way), under a blazer, or under a sheer top but it isn’t a good choice for high impact exercises like running or aerobics. For $32.00, I expect more than just comfort and looks from a sports bra – I want support that I can rely on.
I give this bra 3 stars. It certainly looks nice and is fine for some activities. It wears well and is comfortable. But if you plan to bounce around, skip this one. It doesn’t have ability to keep your jiggly bits from jiggling.
