Cinnabon, oh CINNABON, Update that Site to Include Shopping Options! especially Makara Cinnamon
Sep 25, 2005 (Updated Sep 25, 2005)
Cinnabon.com is not an Online Store, rather it is a service. This site offers excellent graphics within a web site that is easy to navigate. You will find massive information about the Cinnabon company, but you cannnot order products, not even Cinnabon paraphernalia.
I happened upon this website in hope of sending Cinnabon Makara Cinnamon and perhaps other merchandise to a close friend (who resides in a different state). Unfortunately other than sending a e-card greeting to "sweeten someones day", I had no option for sending anything from this site to my friend. I wasn't about to send her this greeting, as her local Cinnabon is more than 200 miles away. Good friends don't tease like that!

My visit to www.cinnabon.com was worthwhile in the fact that I actually liked reading The Cinnabon® Story. I now know that the first Cinnabon bakery opened in 1985, in Seattle, Washington. Of course I also learned other nifty facts about this franchise.
While there, even though I know too well where my local storefronts are, I tried the "Find Us Near You" option. This showed eight store options, of which I already knew about four (which were properly identified). For fun I tried a few other addresses, which also yeilded accurate results. You receive store name of location, addresses, a map, and distance information.
I am familiar with the bakery style products that the local storefronts sell. The online site offers excellent graphics that are reflective of the products sold in the local storefronts. If you are unfamiliar with the products sold, check out the site. Chances are that if you like cinnamon rolls, you will be looking for the storefront near you. If you are familiar with the scrumptious rolls, it is likely a bun/bon craving will surface. Also within this section, you can view/read about new products. Although I had seen Chillattas advertised at a local store, I really didn't know what they were (or rather if they all contained coffee - they don't). I really like carmel, so I actually plan on trying one soon.
You can obtain a few recipes from this site. For example, they offer a nummy World Famous Cinnabon® French Toast recipe, which requires Two Cinnabons. It is easy to make and tastes delightful. Also, you can view seven other recipes, all of which suggest using Cinnabon Makara Cinnamon. Even though I already have a Snickerdoodles recipe, the one at this site is appealing (as are a couple other recipes).
As indicated, it is really disappointing that there are no purchase options at the Cinnabon online site. Therefore I can only rate this site as average, and I highly recommend that corporate offices add online purchase options, if only gift cards, Makara Cinnamon, non-perishable items and memorabilia. It is my strong view that they are missing a prosperous market. Until then, at least you can locate a store and drool over the high-quality graphics.
Finally, I recommend this site with caution that you cannot purchase items.
