Well, every once it a while it is time to restock my unmentionables and I decided to give this site a try.
MERCHANDISE
Figleaves carries lots of lingerie including bras, panties, sexy things to sleep in and other unmentionables. They carry a lot of mid-priced lines and some very expensive items as well.
THE SITE
I found the site easy to shop. I could narrow my selections by size or other factors, such as fabric or style. The site had good product descriptions. However, they did not have independent consumer reviews which are always nice but might be tricky to add on a site selling lingerie. My only other criticism is that it was sometimes hard to locate matching items and I sometimes had to click through several screens to find what I was looking for.
ORDERING
Once thing I liked about ordering is that the site immediately notified me that the item I selected was backordered and it gave me an approximate shipping date. This was very helpful so I could decide early on whether to continue.
The one thing I really didn't like about this site is that it assigned me a username and password. The username was a random set of numbers and the password was two random words strung together. Of course, I can't remember the usernames and passwords that I select for myself. There is absolutely no way I would every remember a username made up of random numbers. I really hate when sites force you to have a membership and make it hard for you to reorder merchanside.
The rest of the ordering process went smoothly. I only had to enter my information once and they didn't ask for any odd information or force me to give up too much privacy.
STEALS AND DEALS
I got 6% back on my order through Ebates. Ebates also had a coupon on its site for $15 off a $75 dollar purchase which I used in combination with the 6% rebate. Also, the site offers free shipping and they claim to offer free returns although I didn't try that process out.
PACKAGING AND SHIPPING
One of the items I selected was backordered when I placed my order. I had chosen two items. I expected the first item that was not backordered to ship immediately. However, they held my entire order until all items were in. That means it took them two weeks for my items to even leave their store. It took just over a week for my items to arrive. All in all, I waited over three weeks for my items after placing my order. Certainly, I understand that might be the case if I select a backordered item but I was suprised how long I had to wait for an in-stock item.
My items were packed inside plastic bags and shipped in a sturdier plastic bag. For those that are bashful about mail order lingerie, you should know that the figleaves name is on the packaging. I didn't make a return, but the packaging could have been reused to make a return if necessary if you used strong tape to reseal the bag.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
I got an immediate email notifying me that they had received my order. I also got an email notifying me when my items shipped, which was two weeks after placing my order. What they didn't tell me is that they will hold the entire order until all items are in. They also didn't keep my posted on the backordered item and it took longer than I thought for it to arrive at their store. The only good thing is that they did not charge my credit card until they actually shipped the items.
The other thing I missed is a link to the shipping service so I could not track my package. Items from Figleaves are shipped from England so it may not be possible for them to provide any kind of tracking information.
FINAL RECOMMENDATION
I was disappointed in my experience with Figleaves. The site and merchandise were fine. However, the shipping delay was too long for the in-stock item. Still, I am recommending the site since it did, in the end, reliably send my merchandise.
