Re: Lg or Samsung (Reply to this comment)

I would definitely have to go with the LG 8100 because my battery lasts way longer than hers. She works at a store where she usually gets dropped calls, but when I go there with my phone I have no problem. So the 8100 has better reception also. As of now I have not had any sound problem. Some people say the volume is too low, well let me tell you this. My old Samsung E105 was less than half as loud as the 8100. I have used three Samsungs in the past and they were all not loud enough for me. But when I tried this LG... I liked it.
As for the Samsung 950... it is totally up to you. I have read the specs on it and they are very similar to the 8100. I think Samsung is just trying to improve upon the 8100. So unless I try the 950 personally I cannot say which one to get between these two. But I would definitely recommend the 8100 over a lot of other Samsung and other brand phones (including the A670).
I hope this helps...

Lg or Samsung (Reply to this comment)

I read both your reviews. The one on your wife's phone is a good review too. Of the 2 phones which is the best for reception and battery life? I can't decide between the Samsung 950 and the Lg 8100. Do you have any sound problems on the LG when the speaker is on? Thanks.

I see, but what about roaming modes? Aren't roaming modes analog?
Thank you for reading, rating, and commenting.

great review (Reply to this comment)

very in depth and helpful. however, towards the beginning of the review you note that the VX 8100 is an all digital phone, which is accurate. however, just a few words later you cite that it can connect to both digial and analog signals. This is incorrect. all digital phones are just that, all digital. tri-mode phones can connect with both bands of CDMA digital signal as well as analog. other than that, great review!
