Left Sprint in Aug 04 and moved to Cingular enticed by:
1. GSM service
2. Talk plan - basic minutes
3. Best Buy deal that gave me:
a v600,
a v400 (two lines), and,
a blue tooth headset for the v600
for a cheap on a 2 yr contract....
Bad mistake....
- The worst service experience yet (have had Sprint, Verizon and MetroPCS on different accounts). Even when signal is strong (5 bars):
1. Dropped calls galore -
2. Many new calls routed to voice mail
- Blatantly inaccurate billing e.g.:
- same plan lines are charged despite paying for family talk option
- Calls to other cingular/AT&T numbers are charged, despite their claim
(>$600 bill in a month this year, of which many were family plan charges or charges to other cingular/AT&T numbers)
Customer service - This is actually the straw that breaks the camels back. There is no consistency in how they recruit/train their reps - a few are OK, but most including at supervisory level are trigger happy to read the book to you rather than understand and share an ownership of your issues.
Sad.
Can't wait to get out. With Sprint, at least I had less occasion to deal with their service/support - much better network service on both cheap and expensive handsets.
AT&T merger has only made things worse for this company. Stay away for your betters - especially if cell service is important to your lifestyle.
