I would recommend the Courtyard by Marriott in Pleasonton, California. I went there recently because it was the cheapest place to stay in the Oakland area. I was not expecting much, since it was the cheapest. I can say that my choosing of this hotel was downright smart.

The hotel was located out of the way of the main interstate. Hidden by trees in one of the nicest towns I have ever seen in the state of California, I was amazed. The main lobby was extremely nice, with lots of plants and a small cafe. The staff was couteous and the check in went fast and smooth.

The rooms were roomy and each had a nice area to do business with a chair, desk and data port. A nice-size TV and recliner chair made for comfort.

Due to the power crisis in California, the pool was not heated, but it looked great and big. Inside, there was a heated spa, almost this size of the pool. It was one of the best ways to relax that I have ever seen.

Next to the spa room was a nice exercise room with plenty of machines so you could work out while staying there. These amneties were an excellent way of having home away from home.

The hotel is located near shopping and eating. However, eating is not necesary as the cafe was excellent. But shopping is really nice. So, after working out and swimming in the spa, I had another thing to do, shop until I maxed out my credit card.

This is an excellent vacation hotel that is designed for business that is cheapest in the Oakland area. The only thing that I had a problem with was checking out, I just didn't want to.
