I have been here and the food and the stories you tell sound like my visit.
I loved the place.

Rice balls!!!! (Reply to this comment)
by tara_dawn
My Sicilian great grandmother used to make these often when I was a child and I would devour so many of them my parents had to cut me off... Never saw them offered at any restaurant before, in fact, no one outside my family never knew what the heck I was talking about when I reminisced about rice balls. I will have to make the trip to Goodfellas. Loved your review, thanks!

Christian!!!
Thank you so much for coming back here to say that! I'm glad my advice worked out for you - and I'd settle for a little Income Share from the site.
Best regards as always,
Tom

Tom,
Checked it out. It was everything you said it would be and then some. Thanks for the Epinion. Too bad you didn't get a share of my dinner check.

Nothin' wrong w/ greasy Mexican strip-mall takeout, nor wings & beer. Served properly - from plastic plates on the kitchen counter - that stuff is the Food of The Gods.
I think I smell a low-rent cuisine writeoff cooking, boys.
Best regards,
Tom

I was under the impression that was fine dining in Texas Pauly?

You sure write good reviews. ;-) I especially enjoyed your review of the 2001 VW Passat, my dream vehicle. Don't spill any Goodfellas leftovers in that car!
I love NYC, and will try to keep this restaurant's name up in a corner of my brain so that I can check it out the next time I'm there.

I wouldn't want to live there either, my friend, which is why I reside on Long Island. But it sure is nice to have it near enough to run in on a weeknight for some dining, etc.
Thanks for your kind words, and best regards,
Tom

Not as rambunctious a review as we've seen of late. Not as particularly keen on skewering this dinner companion as your typical one, your partner in crime and fellow gentleman of leisure... :)
Still, vivid and delightful. Fun to read as always. And sounds like a great place.

You talk about all of the things that make living in the NYC area enjoyable, good food, good atmosphere and people watching. Although I'd have to hop on a plane to get a good cannoli, Seattle atmosphere means a framed black and white picture of the space needle, and people watching amounts to counting the number of brown hiking boots vs. Tevas…I do not miss living in Brooklyn.
New York is a great place to visit (albeit expen$ive), and you’re excellent reviews make me nostalgic, but I wouldn’t want to live there. I do miss the food though…

Gotta email me for that story, my feline friend. Lets just say it was right up... um, your alley. (cringe) Bad puns aside, I thank you for your kind words, and I'm sure that at some point you can visit NYC, and we can tear it up.
Love ya Kitty!

Whatever you decide to write, from tylenols to restaurants, a colorful and lively picture always results. The food, the characters, and gossip, they all come alive at the urging of your pen.

Ok, then. We will hoist a glass or four when you get here. Plus I can hook you up with an excellent hotel recommendation - Embassy Suites in Battery Park. Lookin' forward to meeting the man behind the excellent Epinions!

Tee-hee
The first thing I thought of when I started reading was "Where's Dominic?" It was easy to see you weren't with your pal (or your alter-egos) when I read: "A bite was offered, and I accepted." Getting polite on us in your old age?
Sounds like a good experience...I only regret that I'm stuck here in the land of Denny's and Village Inns.

My bro-in-law just moved to Queens and works at Lincoln Center. We should be in your neck of the woods next summer.
We were in NYC a couple of times around '89 or '90 (the pre-kids/travel days). Had a pal at the Times Square Marriott. Did all the touristy stuff (e.g., Statue, WTC, Empire State Bldg., Yankee Stadium, Shea, Broadway plays, etc.). And visited a buddy at West Point. Even drove his '69 Camaro up to Cooperstown.
My wife is dying to go back. And looks like next summer will be it.

Dang, Tom ol' boy.
I just returned from snagging a quick bite of greasy Mexican food at a strip mall, and now I have to read your account of fine dining?
If it were anybody else, I'd roar with injustice.

I had them under restraint, strait-jacketed in a steamer trunk, because my dining companion was in no WAY ready to meet them. More wine next time, I think.
