Expensive birthdays are no better than frugal ones. Plan ahead so you aren't left in a panicked state at the last minute.

You're my type of party person! I think the more frugal the budget, the better! I envy Martha Stewart, but still say "Up Yours" to her impossible cakes! I would love to see your lamb cake, and I know the love you put into it made it beautiful! Keep writing the tongue-in-cheek reviews...they're funny!

Thanks so much for reading, rating and commenting. I appreciate it!

I agree, kids are most interested in playing together. I think the decorating and party success/stress is all in the head.

If you have any frugal tips to pass along, I'd love to hear them!

Great ideas! (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for some great ideas as I am always looking for frugal ways to celebrate my kids' birthdays. The big secret seems to be that kids just want to be together and that's special enough, so no matter what they do they will have fun. My kids' parties are a lot like my own when I was a kid (pin the tail on the donkey, hot potato, etc.,)and let's face it, everyone is sick of Chuck E Cheese. Thanks for a good epinion.
