The Bottom Line It's funny to see those who would gripe and whine about the unfairness about how one is rated do pretty much the same.
I just finished reading some reviews of Epinions. WOW! It seems like some on here have way to much time on their hands and are taking this rating business way too seriously. I mean who cares if people want to put someone on their WOT list, or VH or NH an opinion. What looks like a good opinion to some may not look good to others. Basically what's right for you isn't right for everyone. Someone can write a mediocre piece not recommending a product. Now if someone who has had a similar experience with that product reads this review they will more than likely VH it. They aren't selling themselves out for goodness sakes. The same goes when a product is being recommended. Lighten up. My question concerning the WOT lists, etc. etc. is, What does this have to do with me as a consumer looking up a product, reading peoples reviews and opinions and making a buying decision. That's what Epinions is supposed to be. Or at least that's what I thought it was. I have made alot of buying decisions based on Epinion reviews and so far they have been on the money. Like I care if an advisor VHs someones opinion or not. I myself have written a handful of opinions on here. I usually only write an opinion when I really love or hate the service/product/place. I do it mostly to vent/praise, not to rack up pennies. Most people probably do the same. It makes no difference to me if others agree with my opinion or not. Cause it is just that, my opinion. Furthermore, I care even less about any rating systems one may have on how they come to make a decision of how to rate ones review. Actually, it makes me laugh and shake my head when I see someone actually explaining why they rated a certain way. One last note, I suppose that all those who see these "injustices" and condemn others, don't VH their friends, family, co-workers, reviews? Nah. And I suppose they don't have the majority of the very same groups VH them or put them on that oh so much coveted WOT list. Peace. I'm out. |
