| KMINER's Full Review: Febreze Air Effects |
Here is another product I tried "on accident" by living with my inlaws all summer - my mother in law found this can on sale at her local stores and had a few in the house. Typically, both her and I use Glade air fresheners, and she thought maybe it was time to try something new.
The main places we had the Febreze Air Effects canisters were in the bathroom and by her cat litter box. Her litter box is in the laundry room, and right next to the washer, so we could smell it every time we went to wash clothes. That always bugged me so I took to spraying a little Febreze Air Effects every time before I walked into the laundry room, and it cleared up any pet odors just fine. Having owned 2 cats myself (they were banned to the basement at that time) I actually used Lysol NeutraAir at home with them, and continued to use that product in my inlaws basement. In the end I preferred my spray for cat related smells over the Febreze Air Effects.
What I loved Febreze Air Effects was for in the bathroom. Let's face it, it was a small house, with both my inlaws, my husband, my 5 year old son, and me. My husband and father in law are "known" for their "bathroom time" and some times it is actually, well, hard to go in and use the bathroom after they've been in. We've all always had Glad sprays on hand - which did at least make it tolerable .. but honestly more of a "oh at least they tried to spray" scent left behind. My mother in law and I both noticed that when we switched to Febreze Air Effects the "bathroom smells" were way better ... way better.
It was with this in mind that I purchased my own can of Febreze Air Effects when we got back this early Fall to our house. Having had some Glade sprays on hand already to use up, I only purchased 1 can of Febreze Air Effects so far - and I find myself carrying it around to the other bathrooms! I do find, for a good air freshener for the bathroom, I really strongly prefer Febreze Air Effects over the Glade sprays. I have also used this product lightly around the home to help with general pet odors and paint odors, and it has worked effectively enough in both areas (meaning the areas smelled noticably better for a few hours afterward).
Currently the scents out include:
- Meadows & Rain (this is the one we have and its wonderful)
- Blossoms & Breeze (more of a floral scent)
- Spring & Renewal
- Summer & Splash (a fruity scent)
- Citrus & Light
- Mint & Refresh
The can is uniquely shaped (to me) and even sprays different than I have been accustomed to. The cans are tall and color coordinated without being "cutsey". To spray you press down on this nozzle sprayer looking thing, and a fine mist comes out - not like a spray, more like a light mist of scent. From experience I've found it really easy to "overspray" - having been used to Glad where you push down the button and stand there for a while coating everything. The Febreze Air Effects really does take a light hand. I have used it not only in the bathroom but as a light spray on our and our pets bedding - all with no problems.
I plan to replace each current can of Glade spray with my now lovely Febreze Air Effects as they are used up .. and never look back again. I feel Febreze Air Effects is a far superior product in managing "bathroom smells" and I'll gladly pay the extra price to own a can. I am able to find them in my area for about $2.50 a can (at its cheapest price) at our local Walmart, and will be keeping my eyes peeled for coupons and/or sales.
